PT Hatfield Indonesia is a pioneer in the field of environmental services in Indonesia, providing a strong local presence and a team of local and international multi-disciplinary specialists built up over more than 27 years of regional experience. Hatfield has an excellent understanding of forest monitoring policies and development in Indonesia, particularly REDD+ MRV programs, having previously conducted project work for the UN-REDD / REDD+ Task Force and Ministry of Forestry (now Ministry of Environment and Forestry).
Hatfield Indonesia provides comprehensive services in forestry to support management of natural and planted forests and land rehabilitation to the private sector, non-governmental organizations and international agencies throughout Indonesia and other countries in Southeast Asia. Drawing on our experience and knowledge in forestry, ecology, environmental sciences and socio-economic assessment, we develop effective and cost-efficient solutions to address a wide range of forest management challenges. We complement our traditional services with a range of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing products and services. Customized applications can be created to support decision making related to land use change, flood monitoring and wetland management.
Hatfield Indonesia also has extensive experience in managing and implementing projects at any scale, and also manages good relationship and network with various institutions. We collaborate with local companies and universities to ensure local expertise is used, and consult with local communities and governments to ensure optimal project outcomes. Using participatory processes, including focus groups, workshops and interviews, we ensure that stakeholder input is incorporated throughout project design, development and implementation. Sustainability is promoted through capacity development and awareness rising and outreach programs. Hatfield Indonesia has implemented a number of communication programs to communicate project results to a wide variety of stakeholders. Programs have included designing and developing multi-media tools, project websites and outreach materials and publications.
Hatfield’s role in Forests2020 is to assist the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to identify critical steps in the national forest survey; processes target for improvement, as well as lead the other organizations during the implementation of the project.
